Urad Dal Ladoo
Ingredients

Urad Dal – 1 Cup
Rice – 2 Tbsp
Jaggery – 3 Tbsp
Cardamom Powder – 1 Tsp
Chopped Cashew Nuts
Ghee

Method:

1. Take some ghee in a pan and roast cashewnuts in it.
2. Once the cashews are golden brown in colour, remove them from the pan and keep them aside.
3. Take urad dal and rice in another pan and roast them until they are a little more than golden brown.
4. Make sure the dal and rice are not burnt but fully roasted.
5. Remove them from the pan and completely cool them down.
6. Add the cooled down ingredients to the mixer jar and pulse it once.
7. Then add in jaggery and cardamom powder to the same mixer jar. Grind them all together.
8. Transfer the ground mixture to a wide bowl.
9. Add in the roasted cashewnuts and ghee.
10. Mix it all well and apply some ghee to the palms if required.
11. Make the laddoos in same size and shape.
12. Healthy and tasty urad dal laddoos are ready to be served.

Urad dal is high in nutrition and many Indian, particularly south Indian recipes involve it. It is well known that regular consumption of urad makes the human body strong like no other. That’s the reason why we have Dosas, Vadas, Idlis etc with lots of urad dal. So in this video, you can watch the making of a simple sweet snack called Sunnundalu famous in Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana. These urad dal laddoos are very easy to make and once you prepare them with lots of ghee and store them in an air-tight container, they stay good for 4-5 days easily.
