In this video I am going to show you how to make onam special Sambar | Kerala Style

Ingredients

Drumstick- 1/4 cup
Beans- 1/4 cup
Carrot- 1/4 cup
Broad Beans – 1/4 cup
Bottle gourd- 1/4 cup
Pumpkin- 1/4 cup
Turmeric- half teaspoon
Chilli- 2 to 3 tablespoon
Chilli powder- 2 tablespoon
Coriander powder- 2 tablespoon
Sambar powder- one tablespoon
Curry leaves
Coconut oil – 2 to 3 tablespoon
Small Onion- 4 to 5
Salt for taste
Coriander leaves
Mustard seeds- half teaspoon
Toor dal ( Lentils)-100 gm
Tomato- 2 Medium size
Tamarind juice

Method

1) In a wide kadai, add few small onions and add all the vegetables one by one Drumstick, beans, Carrot, Broad beans, Bottle gourd,Pumpkin,

2) Then add half teaspoon of turmeric powder, required salt, slit chilli, curry leaves , two tablespoon of Coconut oil

3) Add half teaspoon turmeric powder, 2 tablespoon chilli powder, 2 tablespoon Coriander powder required salt and mix well and one and half cup water , close the lid and cook well for 15 minutes.

4)In a pressure cooker, add washed toor dal, Tomato, onion, Turmeric powder, salt for 3 whistle, mash it and keep aside.

5) once the vegetables is cooked , add Tamarind juice, let the raw smell goes add the mashed dal and one tablespoon of sambar powder cook for 10 minutes

6) In a small pan, add two tablespoon of Coconut oil, mustard let it splutter, onion, curry leaves, Dry chilli and hing

7) Add the tempering and garnish with coriander leaves

6) Kerala Style Sambar is ready to serve.
