In this video I’m sharing our weekly food shop from British supermarkets ALDI and SAINSBURY’S.
This is by no means an exhaustive list of everything we list because obviously everyone runs out of different things at different times. We already have certain things in the house that I don’t mention, like bread, local beef mince etc. etc…
The video gives you an idea about some of the healthy / homemade meals we make on a weekly basis, as a family of four with two small children.
I also talk a bit about my worries around sustainability and the plastic issue we have with supermarkets. We are not plastic free or as eco as we could be but we’re working on improving our consumption and reduce our waste. We do of course recycle as much as we can in our area but as I have heard from climate change experts, we can’t recycle ourselves out of the plastic problem and so I think it’s got to be about raising awareness and speaking to our supermarkets as well as influencing the government as much as we can by signing petitions and more. This is a topic I’d love to delve deeper into but from a perspective of learning and sharing knowledge because we are all on a journey with this.
