Here’s a simple, tasty Palak Rice recipe you can make at home 🌿🍚
Palak Rice Recipe (Spinach Rice)
📝 Ingredients
Cooked rice – 2 cups (preferably leftover or cooled)
Palak (spinach) – 1½ cups (washed & chopped)
Onion – 1 medium (finely chopped)
Green chilli – 1 (optional)
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Oil or ghee – 2 tbsp
Salt – to taste
👩🍳 Method
Blanch Palak
Boil palak for 2 minutes, transfer to cold water, then grind into a smooth paste.
Prepare Masala
Heat oil/ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds.
Add chopped onion and sauté till golden.
Add ginger-garlic paste & green chilli, sauté till aromatic.
Cook Palak
Add palak paste, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt.
Cook on medium flame for 2–3 minutes.
Mix Rice
Add cooked rice and garam masala.
Mix gently so rice doesn’t break.
Finish
Switch off flame, add lemon juice, mix lightly.
🍽️ Serving Suggestion
Serve hot Palak Rice with:
Boondi raita
Plain curd
Onion salad or pickle
✨ Tip: You can add paneer cubes, corn, or peas to make it more filling.
