Karuveppilai Chutney is a nutritious South Indian chutney made using fresh curry leaves. Rich in iron, calcium, antioxidants, and vitamins, this chutney supports hair growth, improves digestion, boosts immunity, and helps control blood sugar. Easy to prepare and perfect with idli, dosa, or rice.

🧺 Ingredients

Karuveppilai (Curry leaves) – 1 cup

Dry red chilli – 3

Urad dal – 1 tbsp

Chana dal – 1 tbsp

Garlic – 3 cloves

Tamarind – small piece

Salt – to taste

Oil – 1 tsp

🔥 For Tempering

Oil – 1 tsp

Mustard seeds – ½ tsp

Curry leaves – few

👩‍🍳 Method

Heat oil and sauté curry leaves till crisp. Keep aside.

In same pan, fry urad dal, chana dal, red chilli & garlic.

Add tamarind and sauté lightly.

Cool and grind everything with salt to thick chutney.

Heat oil, add mustard seeds & curry leaves for tempering.

Pour over chutney and mix well.
