This sugar free puff pastry hearts recipe is inspired by my Nana and Nani’s bakery love story ❤️
My Nana used to bake little sugar hearts for my Nani when they ran their small bakery together. This Valentine’s month, I recreated those nostalgic bakery style puff pastry hearts — but made them sugar free, refined sugar free, low glycemic and diabetic friendly.
If you are looking for healthy Valentine’s Day desserts, sugar free Indian sweets, monk fruit baking recipes, air fryer desserts, or low calorie desserts for elderly parents and grandparents — this recipe is for you.
Instead of white sugar, I used monk fruit sweetener, a natural zero calorie sugar alternative that does not spike blood sugar and supports insulin sensitivity. Instead of processed fats, I used A2 ghee made from Gir cows, which is easier to digest and traditionally valued for gut health and nourishment.
This recipe is perfect for:
• Diabetic friendly desserts
• Low glycemic sweets
• Healthy aging nutrition
• Sugar free baking
• Clean ingredient Indian desserts
• Heart friendly festive treats
• Air fryer dessert recipes
• Healthy desserts for grandparents
