I tried this special recipe using rice flakes to have a change in kids lunch boxes. My kids love fried vege rice. Rice flakes is a byproduct of rice therefore I felt this will give a good new lunch box idea.
Here are the ingredients :-
1 Full Cup of Red Rice Flakes
Any Vegetables – I used green bell pepper and Carrots
Garlic and Ginger – Finely chopped
Few cumin seeds
Some Oil / Ghee
Salt and pepper
Method: –
1. First , you wash rice flakes thoroughly and let it soak for about 5 min.
2. After 5 min, squeeze extra water and make the rice flakes ready.
3. Cut vegetables into small pieces
4. Heat a pan, add some oil into it.
5. Add cumin seeds, garlic and ginger and let it fry for few seconds
6. Then you can add chopped vegetables and some salt and pepper to taste.
7. Once all veges become soft, add rice flakes and mix well.
It is ready ti serve.
Adding cumin seeds to a dish will give a beautiful taste. You can use any spice as you wish. Try to add vegetable with colours to grab your kids’ attention. I am sure they will love this change.
