Welcome back to Culinary Compass! If you love zucchini but hate how watery it can be when cooked, or if you are looking for a satisfying, crispy snack that doesn’t involve deep-frying, this recipe is for you. We are making perfectly seasoned, oven-baked zucchini sticks—tender on the inside, with an incredibly crunchy crust.

This recipe demonstrates crucial professional cooking techniques, like drawing out excess moisture using salt, which is key to achieving that fantastic crisp texture without the need for excessive oil. We use a flavorful breading mix incorporating breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, and grated hard cheese (like Parmesan) for maximum flavor and adherence. This method makes a healthy alternative to traditional fries or nuggets, aligning perfectly with principles of Nutrition and Healthy Living.

Serve these hot zucchini sticks alongside our super-simple, fresh sour cream dipping sauce, flavored with garlic and dill. This quick gourmet side dish is perfect for weeknight dinners, appetizers, or using up that garden harvest. ### CRISPY BAKED ZUCCHINI STICKS RECIPE

**Ingredients:**

* 2 Zucchinis (approx. 1.5 lbs)
* 2/3 tsp Salt
* 1-2 Eggs (whisked)
* 2 tbsp Flour (approx.)

**Breading Mixture:**

* 4 tbsp Breadcrumbs
* 1 tsp Dried Garlic Powder
* 1 tsp Ground Paprika
* 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano (Marjoram)
* Pinch of Black Pepper
* 2.5 oz Grated Hard Cheese (Parmesan recommended)

**Dipping Sauce:**

* 4 tbsp Sour Cream
* 1 Clove Garlic (minced)
* Couple of sprigs of Fresh Dill (finely chopped)

**Instructions:**

1. Cut zucchinis into sticks (quarters or thirds lengthwise). Salt the zucchini sticks and allow them to rest to release excess moisture, then drain.
2. Mix breading ingredients together until evenly distributed.
3. Coat the zucchini sticks first in flour (shake in a bag or tray for efficiency), then dip in whisked egg, and finally coat heavily in the seasoned breading.
4. Place coated sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
5. Bake in a well-preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for approximately 25 minutes, ideally using a convection setting, until golden and crispy.
6. While baking, mix sour cream, minced garlic, and dill for the dipping sauce.
7. Serve hot with the sauce.
