Rava/Semolina – 1 Cup
Green chilli – 1 slit
curry leaves – few
Urad dal/black gram without skin – 1 Teaspoon
Mustard seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Asafoetida/Hing – a pinch
Salt – as per taste
Sugar – a pinch
Water – 2 to 2 & 1/2 Cup
Lemon juice – as per taste
Coriander leaves – as required
Bhujia/Namkeen Sev – as required for garnishing
Ghee/Clarified butter – 1 Tablespoon

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-
1. First, dry roast the semolina/rava for 2 to 3 minutes. You can store this roasted semolina for a longer time.
2. You can add chopped onion if you want.
3. Sugar gives a nice taste to the upma so, do add it.
4. For the perfect consistency of the upma, add 2 to 2 & 1/2 cup water.
