It is pure vegetarian recipe, yet taste, texture and health benefits are as that of a OMLET. During this period of COVID-19, where people are sceptical about the eggs, this is the best alternative of OMLET. So, friends, prepare it at home and enjoy with friends, family and relatives.
Egg less Vegetable Omlet (3 nos.)
Ingredients:
Yellow Split Gram : 250gm
(Yellow Moong Dal)
Capsicum (finely chopped) : half cup
Green chillies (finely chopped) : 2 to 4 nos.
Onion (finely chopped) : 1 (big size)
Ginger (grated) : 1 teaspoon
Black Pepper powder : 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Bread slices : 6 nos.
Oil or Ghee : as per choice
Method:
Take 250gm. of yellow split gram (yellow moong dal), soak it for 3 to 4 hours.
Grind it in a mixer grinder to make fine paste. Pour it into a bowl.
Put salt to taste and beat it for at least 30 minutes continuously in one direction.
After 30 minutes, the volume of mixture will increase and colour of mixture fades slightly.
Now, add finely chopped half cup capsicum.
Add finely chopped 2 – 3 green chillies.
Add finely chopped big onion.
Add 1 teaspoon grated ginger.
Add half teaspoon powder of black pepper.
Mix them properly.
You may add Eno or baking soda to the mixture.
Now, pour the mixture on a hot pan for shallow fry.
Shallow fry it both sides by covering it with lid and adding oil or ghee, in intervals, on the top of the OMLET, to fry it nicely.
Garnish it with tomato ketchup or green chatni and enjoy the pure vegetarian eggless vegetable omlet.
You may eat it as BREAD OMLET.
