Tricolour/Tiranga Sandwich are sandwiches that represents the colours of the Indian Flag. For the saffron colour, carrot spread is used and for the green layer, green chutney is used. These sandwiches are ideal for kids and parties, especially for Independence and Republic day. No mayo or cheese is used in this recipe. You may use whole wheat bread for a even healthier option. You can also make pinwheel sandwiches using this recipe.

Ingredients:
48 slices of sandwich bread
Butter, as needed

Carrot Spread:
200 g carrots
50 g paneer/cottage cheese
1 tbsp (approx 25 g) hung curd/yogurt
1 tsp roasted sesame seeds/til
1 clove of garlic
Small piece of cinnamon
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Pinch of edible orange food color

Green Chutney:
1 cup freshly scrapped coconut
1 cup fresh coriander leaves
1/2 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
3 green chillies, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 inch ginger
1 small marble sized ball of tamarind
1 medium onion (roasted), chopped
2 pinches of turmeric/haldi powder
Salt, to taste
Sugar, to taste
Water as needed (2-3 tbsp approx.)
