#chefJ is whipping up some delicious and nutritious apple sauce banana pancakes in the kitchen today! This recipe has become one of my staple breakfasts when I’m craving something sweet.

Pancakes have ALWAYS been a favorite breakfast meal for me. When I was little, my Dad made my sister and I pancakes every Sunday morning. I remember waking up to the sweet smell of maple syrup and the sounds of the batter sizzling softly on the pan. As a kid, I never really learned what was healthy versus what was not. During my fitness journey, I began to educate myself with proper nutrition information. But, I knew I could not give up my pancakes so I found some healthier alternatives! Here’s what I discovered:

DIRECTIONS:
STEP 1: Crack one whole egg into a #blendjet blender with your 1 cup of oats.

STEP 2: Blend those ingredients together.

STEP 3: Add in 1/2 cup of oat milk into blender and blend again until ingredients are mixed and oats are cut into tiny pieces.

STEP 4: Pour your mixture into a large mixing bowl.

STEP 5: Add 1 cup of apple sauce into blender with 1 tablespoon of honey, 1/2 a teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of baking powder.

STEP 6: Blend ingredients together.

STEP 7: Add mixtures together in large bowl and mix together.

STEP 8: Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil into mixture and mix all ingredients together until the consistency is smooth

STEP 9: On a greased skillet set to medium heat, cook your pancakes! You want to make sure the pan is not too hot, as to not burn the pancakes!

STEP 10: Add any toppings and syrup you desire and ENJOY!
