Here’s how to make the best chicken shawarma!!
Ingredients:
For the chicken:
400g boneless chicken
1-1½ tsp chilli powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 pepper powder
1 tsp sweet paprika
1/2 tbsp garlic paste
1-2 tbsp olive oil
Salt to taste
For the yogurt sauce:
250g plain yogurt
2 tbsp tahini
4-5 garlic cloves, finely grated
3-4 tsp olive oil
Salt to taste
Black pepper (optional)
To assemble:
Flatbread of choice
Lettuce, chopped
Cucumbers, sliced
Tomato, sliced
Recipe:
Marinate the chicken with the spices, salt, yogurt and olive oil for an hour. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a pan and lightly fry the chicken. Cut it into slices and mix together all the ingredients for the sauce. Spread the sauce on the flatbread followed by the sliced chicken, lettuce, cucumber and tomato. Enjoy!!
