100 Year Old Salad Recipe
Welcome to my weekly series dropping every #chewsday: WTF IS THAT?!? FROM THE PAST where I try an over 100 year old recipe.

KENTUCKY SALAD
4 tablespoons gelatine
¾ cup cold water cup boiling water
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup vinegar
3 tablespoons tarragon vinegar
3 tablespoons lemon juice
Few grains salt
1¼ cups ¼-inch cubes cucumber
1¼ cups ¼-inch cubes pineapple
2 cups pineapple juice
Soak gelatine in cold water and dissolve in boiling water.
Then add sugar and vinegar, pineapple juice, tarragon vin-egar, lemon juice and salt.
When mixture begins to thicken
add the cucumber and pineapple which have been chilled and drained. Pour into individual molds and chill. Turn out on lettuce leaves and arrange on a platter. Serve with cream mayonnaise dressing.
