#mashed #potatoes #recipe

Ingredients for a family of 4:

10 medium potatoes
1 glass of milk
2-3 tbsps butter / margarine
Splash of oil
Salt
Parsley

Directions:

Peel, wash and cut the potatoes, add to a medium sized pan, top with water, add the oil and bring to boil, then add salt.
Potatoes should be boiled in 30-40 minutes.
After the potatoes are boiled, remove from heat, drain the potatoes from excess water, transfer to a bowl or pan and add butter and milk.
Using a potato masher, start by mashing the potatoes until all of them are completely turned into a paste. Depending on the consistency you’d like you can add more or less milk.
Add salt to taste.
Finally sprinkle parsley on the dish .

Tip:you can check if the potatoes are thoroughly boiled by pricking one with a fork – if they feel soft and the fork goes right in, then they are done.

Warning: Please whatever you do, DON’T use a food processor to mash them. Trust me, I made a mistake once of doing that
and they turned gummy and gooey, like chewing gum, disgusting !
