As a busy working adult myself, I prefer quick and healthy lunch ideas prepared under 30 minutes that could get me through my weekdays.

Here’s my shortcut way to prepare British’s favourite, chicken tikka masala. Do you know that chicken tikka masala is national dish of England? Try this recipe, you can enjoy your favourite Indian Style Chicken Tikka Masala under 30 minutes.

Here’s the written recipe:

Ingredients A
Ghee (Clarified Butter) – 2 Tbsp [best substitute is butter]
Cardamom Pods – 2
Chicken -250g
Yogurt – 2 tsp
Salt – to taste
Tomato Puree – 150 ml
Milk – 2 Tbsp

Ingredients B
Red Onions (Medium-Sized) – 2
Garlic – 5 cloves
Ginger Powder – 1 tsp
Garlic Powder – 1/2 tsp
Onion Powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Curry Powder – 1 tsp
Chilli Powder – 1 1/4 Tbsp

Steps:
1. Marinate the chicken with yogurt and 1 tsp of salt, set aside for 10 minutes.
2. Blend ‘Ingredients B’ together till it forms smooth thick paste, set aside.
3. Heat the wok with 2 Tbsp of ghee/ butter, add cardamom pods once heated.
4. Add the marinated chicken till the meat turns white on the outside
5. Add the blended thick spice paste and cook till it simmers.
6. Add 100 ml of water, salt to taste. You are adding tomato puree later so mind your salt level according to your saltiness of tomato puree.
7. Once the gravy starts simmering, add tomato puree and reduce heat to cook thoroughly.
8. Once cooked & salt level is adjusted, add 2 Tbsp of milk and off the heat.
9. Stir well and chicken tikka masala is served. Enjoy!
