Methi Paratha or methi thepla, also called as ‘methi saag er porota’ in bengali, is a very flavorful Indian flatbread prepared from fenugreek leaves ( methi ka patta / methi saag) and is very delicious easy tiffin or snacks recipe. In spite of methi leaves being bitter, but after you prepare the parathas the way shown in the video it will not at all be bitter in taste rather you will love to cook it again and again. This is a winter special recipe as methi leaves or methi saag is more widely available in this season.
Methi paratha originated from Gujarat, India and was originally prepared as travel time dish with the original preparation being made with curd and lots of ghee or butter to make them stay longer and softer but it can also be prepared without curd and ghee and with more flakiness which is another delicious bengali version of it. You can prepare it either way as both the variations tastes yummy.
