Duane takes over the kitchen and teaches us how to make a NY Cheesecake that uses less sugar than the typical recipe. By decreasing the amount of sugar in the base recipe and replacing a typical, syrupy fruit filling topping with frozen (plain berry mix) and a bit of Splenda, he was able to make a lighter (albeit not less caloric or less dense) version of a cheesecake. Next time, we may need to try a crust less version that uses a different (less fat) version of the cream cheese.
This version, however, was delicious! If you want to eat cheesecake, make sure it is a GREAT-tasting cheesecake. This one was amazing! Give it a try!
