Its easier than you think. With only 5 ingredient you can make muesli bars or no bake granola bars. 3 main ingredient oat, honey and peanut butter, plus a dried fruit and a nut of your choice. Homemade use natural ingredient, not only its a healthy breakfast bar or great snack, it tastes so much better than store bought !
Makes 10 bars
Serving 1 bar (breakfast on the run 😀)
8″ (20cm) Square cake tin or plastic container
You’ll need :
1 1/2 cup (180g) Rolled oat (Old fashioned oat) *
3/4 cup (180g) Natural peanut butter **
1/2 cup (170g) Natural honey
1/2 cup (75g) Almond, half chopped ***
1/4 cup Roasted Peanut (Optional)
1/2 cup (70g) Sultanas
1/4 cup (35g) Pepitas
Pinch of salt add to the honey and peanut butter mixture
Line cake tin or container with parchment paper. MIx all dried ingredient in a medium bowl. In a small saucepan, warm up honey and peanut butter on low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and warm. Don’t boil it. Pour into dried ingredient and mix well. Spread and press into the base of tin or container. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Cut into 10 bars. Grab a bar on your way out or snack with guilt free !
* Packed the oats when measuring with cup
** Natural peanut butter tends to separate, peanut oil float on top, so make sure you stir well before using.
*** Use more almonds or sultanas if don’t have roasted peanut and pepitas.
Use any dried fruits, nuts and seeds of your choice, as long it make a total of 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cup.
Dried fruits idea : Sultanas, dates, apricot, apple, fig, cranberries, goji berries, mango.
Nuts : Almond, roasted peanut, cashew, walnut, macadamia nut.
Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to a week.
