chickpeas 3/4 cup
rice 3/4 cup
Oil 2 tablespoons
Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
Clove 4
Star anise 1
Cinnamon 1 inch small stick
Cardamom 4
Bay leaves 1

Green chilli 2
Garam masala 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

Start by soaking chickpeas overnight, then pressure cook them with a pinch of salt. Set them aside.
Next, cook your basmati rice with a bit of salt and set that aside as well.
In a pan, heat some oil. Once it’s hot, toss in your spices and stir for about 30 seconds to release the flavors.
Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
Now, throw in green chilies, freshly grated ginger, and garlic. Stir for a minute to let the aromas blend.
Add the cooked chickpeas and rice to the pan. Mix everything well!
Squeeze in some fresh lemon juice and sprinkle garam masala for that perfect spice kick. Taste and adjust the salt if needed.
