Serves 4-5
Recipe in English:
Ingredients:
-Jau ka dalia (Barley Porridge) broken 100g
-Water as required
-Olper’s Milk 1 litre
-Darchini (Cinnamon) powder ¼ tsp
-Hari Elaichi (Green Cardamom) powder ½ tsp
-Olper’s Milk 1 Cup (optional)
-Honey 3-4 tbs
-Khajoor (Dates) deseeded & chopped 5-6
-Badam (Almond) sliced
Direction:
-In a bowl add barley and water. Then wash it thoroughly and strain.
-Add fresh water, cover & soak barley for 3-4 hours or overnight.
-In a cooking pot add milk, and bring it to boil.
-Now strain the soaked barley and add in boiling milk.
-Mix, half cover and cook on low flame for 30-40 minutes. Stir in between.
-Remove the cover, mix again, add cinnamon powder and green cardamom powder. Then mix it.
-If the consistency is thick, add milk again to maintain it.
-Cover & cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes.
-Turn off the flame,add honey & mix well.
-In a serving dish add talbina. Give a finishing touch with honey, dates, pistachios, and almonds.
