Today I started my sourdough starter with just 1 tablespoon water and 1 teaspoon flour. I’m using flour with 12% or more protein content, which helps build a stronger gluten structure and supports healthy natural fermentation.
Sourdough is made using wild yeast and beneficial bacteria, unlike commercial yeast that is designed for quick rising. Because of this slow fermentation process, sourdough is often considered healthier – it can be easier to digest, may support gut health, and may help improve nutrient absorption.
Most sourdough recipes are available in English and are commonly made by foreigners, but I want Indians to learn and enjoy sourdough too. That’s why I’m creating easy sourdough content in Hindi so everyone can understand and try it at home.
This is just Day 1 of my sourdough journey, and I’m excited to share every step with you!
