Here’s a simple tuna salad that turns into the perfect tuna melt.
Ingredients
2 cans tuna, drained
1/4 cup diced red onion, white onion, or 2 green onions
1 garlic clove minced into a paste
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 celery stalks finely diced
1 to 2 pickles finely diced
1/2 to 3/4 cup mayonnaise depending on preference
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1/2 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
Directions
Add drained tuna to a bowl and break it up with a fork.
Add diced onion, celery, pickles, and garlic paste.
Add lemon juice, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard.
Season with salt and pepper.
Mix everything together until creamy.
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Optional: add parsley and thyme.
