This recipe of Figs Jam is rich with many plant based ingredients that taste yum but are also very nutritious.

Figs are great source of calcium, vitamins and minerals. They also have antioxidant property. Figs are a good source of fiber, research has found that they could aid in weight management as high fiber foods have a positive impact.

Dates contains antioxidants and vitamins like B1, B2 and B3. Dates are good to maintain blood sugar levels because dates contain natural sugar.

Sesame seeds are added to this recipe to make it more nutritious as sesame seeds are great source of unsaturated fats which lowers cholesterol. Sesame seeds improves digestion.

Ingredients:-

10- 12 no’s. – Fresh figs
1/2 cup – Deseeded dates
1/4 cup – Water
1/2 tbsp – Sugar
1 tsp – Lemon juice
1/4 tsp – Salt
1/4 tsp – Vanilla essence
1 tbsp – Sesame seeds

Instructions:-

1. In a blender, add fresh figs, dates and water and blend it to make smooth puree.

2. Put this puree to a pan, then add sugar, lemon juice, salt, vanilla essence and sesame seeds.

3. Mix everything well and keep stirring continuously on low flame.

4. It slowly changes color to dark brown.

5. Keep stirring continuously till it becomes non pourable. (Check it by taking some amount of jam on spoon).

6. Figs jam is ready. Let it cool to room temperature and store in air tight container.
