Besan Chilla Sandwich
Ingredients
For the Besan Chilla
2 cups besan (gram flour)
1 grated carrot
Fresh coriander, finely chopped
2 green chilies, finely chopped
½ cup corn
Salt to taste
2 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp cumin powder
½ to 1 cup water (as needed)
For the Sandwich
Bread slices
Green chutney
Ketchup
A little butter
Chaat masala for sprinkling
Method
Step 1: Prepare the Chilla Batter
In a large bowl, add besan, grated carrot, coriander, green chilies, corn, salt, chaat masala, and cumin powder.
Mix well.
Gradually add water and whisk until you get a smooth batter with a pourable consistency.
Step 2: Make the Chilla
Heat a flat pan or tawa and add 1 tbsp oil.
Spread the oil evenly.
Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it into a thin round chilla.
Cook on medium flame for 2–3 minutes.
Flip and cook the other side for another 2–3 minutes until golden and cooked through.
Step 3: Assemble the Sandwich
On the same pan, add a little butter and lightly toast the bread slices.
Spread green chutney on one slice and ketchup on the other.
Place the prepared besan chilla between the bread slices.
Sprinkle some chaat masala for extra flavor.
Step 4: Serve
Cut the sandwich in half and enjoy it hot with your favorite chutney or tea.
