Sprouts Salad Recipe | How To Make Sprouts At Home | Protein Salad | Weight Loss Salad
Today’s recipe is this healthy and protein packed Sprouts Salad. We have shown how to make sprouts at home from scratch. Sprouted lentils are high in fibers, protein and nutrients. They help in regulation in blood circulation, improves digestion process and also builds our muscles. Please find the full recipe below:-
Ingredients:
For Sprouts:
• Green moong beans – 1 cup
• Black chickpea – 1/4 cup
• Water – to soak
• Muslin cloth or plate to cover
For Salad:
• Clarified butter (Ghee) – 1 tsp
• Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
• Green chili – 1
• Chopped onions – 1/2 cup
• Chopped carrots – 1/4 cup
• Chopped green capsicum – 1/4 cup
• Chopped tomatoes – 1/2 cup
• Red chili powder – 1/4 tsp
• Salt to taste
• Lemon juice – 1 tsp
• Fresh coriander leaves
• Water – 3 to 4 tbsp
Recipe:
1. Wash and soak the Moong bean and black chickpea for overnight or 10-12 hours.
2. After 10-12 hours, discard the water nad wash them for 1-2 times.
3. To sprout the beans, cover them with lid/plate or damp muslin cloth, and keep that in warm place for 20 hours. (I like to place it in microwave/oven)
4. After around 20 hours, beans and black chana will be well sprouted.
5. Heat a pan, add 1 tsp of ghee. Add cumin seeds and green chilies and sauté them for 20 sec.
6. Add onions and cook them till they become transparent. Then add other veggies and sauté them just for 1 minute.
7. Add chili powder and mix well.
8. Add 1 cup sprouts, tomatoes and salt. Mix them well and add 2-3 tbsp water.
9. Cover and cook for just about two minutes.
10. Drizzle some lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot!!
Notes:
• These sprouts can be stored in airtight box for good 5-7 days.
• Don’t overcook them, or they will lose all nutrients. By cooking them for a minute or two, we are just reducing their raw flavor.
