Preparation
Heat the pan and pour in 10 ml of oil. Put in the spoon of fenugreek seeds and fennel seeds and saute well. Put in the pieces of 10 shallots , 25 gms of garlic and 25 gms of ginger and saute and mix well till the shallots lose their pinkish color. Put in the two red chillies . Put in the ivy gourd pieces and saute well. Add salt to taste and mix well. Add the pieces of one tomato and 100 gms of chickpea and saute well. Add 250 ml of thin coconut milk to this mixture and mix well. Cook the mixture for 15 minutes if in the pressure cooker or 35 minutes if in the open pan. After cooking for the required time add a cup of washed rice and cook for 5 more minutes in a pressure cooker.Take off the flame and serve.
