Preparation time: 5 minutes
Standby time: 6-8 hours
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
1. Oats 1/2 cup
2. Chia seeds 1 tbsp
3. Cinnamon powder 1/4 tsp
4. Yogurt 2 tbsp
5. Milk 1/2 cup
6. Maple syrup/honey 2-3 tsp
7. Vanilla essence 1/4 tsp (optional)
Method:
• In a bowl, add oats, chia seeds, cinnamon powder and mix it roughly.
• Add yogurt and mix.
• Then, add milk and mix well to avoid lumps.
• Add maple syrup or honey and few drops of vanilla essence and give it a final mix.
• Cover the bowl with a cling wrap and refrigerate it for minimum 6 hours or overnight.
• After resting, the consistency of oatmeal will be thick (if required you can add little milk).
• Now, top the oatmeal with your favourite fruits, seeds, nuts, granola and serve.
Suggestions:
• You can add a spoonful of any nut butter in the oatmeal either while preparing or while consuming.
•If your oats are too thick in the morning, add little milk to adjust the consistency.
• Coconut milk can be used instead of regular milk.
