Instructions to make Dal Palak Recipe
Wash the lentils and soak them in water for 30 minutes. Drain the water and rinse the lentils again.
In a pressure cooker add dal with water and all other ingredients and tomatoes.
Add chopped spinach and mix well.
Close the pressure cooker lid and cook for 2-3 whistles or until the lentils are cooked through. If using a heavy-bottomed pan, cook the lentils on low heat for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through.
Once the lentils are cooked, open the lid and mash them with a ladle or a whisk. You can adjust the consistency of the dal by adding more water if needed.
Do the tempering with ghee, cumin, red chillies, and curry leaves and pour over dal and serve hot with rice or roti.
