Kozhukatta or Kozhukkattai is a popular South Indian dumpling made from rice flour, with a filling of grated coconut, jaggery, or chakkavaratti. Kozhukatta, although usually sweet, can sometimes be stuffed with a savory filling. It’s a healthy snack steamed not fried.

Ingredients:
Flour
Grated coconut
Grated Jaggery
Jeera

Preparation:
Add some salt and pour warm water into the rice powder and knead well to make smooth dough, without lumps.
Make big lemon sized balls out of this dough
Mix grated coconut, grated jaggery and jeera and stuff it into the big lemon sized dough balls.
Steam the kozhukkattas (in an idiyappam / idly maker) for 15-20mts.
Serve hot.
