Today, we’re going to make a delicious and healthy snack recipe that’s perfect for breakfast or as a quick meal – Instant Sandwich Dhokla! This traditional Indian dish is a popular street food in Gujarat, and with our easy recipe, you can make it at home in no time. Our dhokla recipe uses suji and is flavored with a spicy and tangy green chutney, making it a great option for those looking for healthy Indian snacks. Ingredients:
* 2 cup semolina (sooji/rava)
* 1 cup curd
* 1 cup water (as needed)
* Salt to taste
* ½ tsp eno (fruit salt)
For Green Chutney:
* 1 cup coriander leaves
* 2 green chilies
* 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
* 2 garlic cloves
* 1 tsp lemon juice
* Salt to taste
* 2–3 tbsp water + few ice cubes
For Tempering:
* 2 tsp oil
* 1 tsp mustard seeds
* 1 tsp sesame seeds
* Few curry leaves
Method:
1. In a bowl, mix curd, water, semolina, and salt. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
2. Blend coriander, green chili, peanuts, garlic, lemon juice, salt, water, and ice cubes into a smooth chutney.
3. Just before steaming, add eno and little water to the batter. Mix gently. Take 2 tbsp of this batter and mix into the green chutney.
4. Grease a dhokla plate with oil. Pour half of the white batter and steam for 5 minutes.
5. Spread chutney layer, steam for 2 minutes. Then add remaining white batter, sprinkle red chili powder (optional), and steam for 10–12 minutes.
6. Check with a toothpick; if it comes out clean, dhokla is ready. Let it cool, cut into squares.
7. Prepare tempering with hot oil, mustard seeds, sesame seeds, and curry leaves. Pour over dhokla.
Serve with extra green chutney.
