Love ice cream cones but don’t have a waffle maker?

Try this easy homemade ice cream cone recipe using simple ingredients. These cones turn crispy, light and perfectly shaped, just like store-bought ones.

You can make them without a waffle cone machine using a pan. Perfect for serving homemade ice cream for kids and family.

Ingredients:

¾ cup all-purpose flour (maida)
or
3/4th cup whole wheat flour
½ cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp oil or melted ghee
¼ cup milk
¼ tsp vanilla essence
2 pinches salt

Procedure

Step 1 – Make the Batter

In a bowl add powdered sugar, oil/ghee and milk.
Mix well until smooth.
Add maida, vanilla essence and salt.
Mix to make a smooth lump-free batter (similar to dosa batter).

Step 2 – Cook the Cone Sheet

Heat a flat pan on low flame.
Pour 2 tbsp batter and spread thin like a small dosa.
Cook on low flame until light golden and flexible.
Flip and cook for 10–15 seconds on the other side.

Step 3 – Shape the Cone

While the sheet is still hot, quickly roll it into a cone shape.
Press the edge so it sticks properly.
Hold for 10–15 seconds until it sets.
Let it cool completely to become crispy.

Tip
For extra crispiness, keep the cones in preheated oven at 150°C for 3–4 minutes.
