Ingredients (serves 2):½ tsp lighter butter spread
1 large onion, finely diced
½ tsp sugar (optional)
250g lean beef mince (5% fat)
SaltBlack pepper
250g frozen fries (I used Skin on by McCain)
1 tsp yellow mustard
2 light cheese slices
100g shredded lettuce
8 cherry tomatoes quartered
1 gherkin finely chopped

Animal Style Sauce
60g lighter mayonnaise1 tbsp reduced sugar ketchup½ tsp yellow mustard1 tsp gherkin juice
1 gherkin finely chopped½ tsp garlic granules½ tsp smoked paprika ½ tsp sugar
Pinch of salt

💕Start by heating a frying pan over medium heat and adding the lighter butter spread. Add the diced onion and sugar and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened, golden and caramelised. If the onions start to catch, add a small splash of water and continue cooking.

💕Cook the fries according to the packet instructions until golden and crispy.

💕In a separate pan, add the beef mince and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 5-6 minutes, breaking the mince up with a spatula, until browned.

💕Whilst the beef cooks, mix all of the sauce ingredients together.

💕Stir the yellow mustard through the beef and cook for another minute.

💕Lay the cheese slices over the hot beef and allow them to melt. You may need to cover with a lid.

💕To assemble the bowls, add the shredded lettuce, tomatoes and divide the crispy fries between two bowls. Top with the beef and drizzle with the animal style sauce.

💕Scatter over the caramelised onions before serving.
