Ingredients

Banana – 3 nos, ripen
Jaggery – 1/4 cup
Sugar – 1/4 cup
WholeWheat flour – 1 cup
Semolina – 1/2 cup
Curd – 2 tbsp
Oil – 1/2 cup
Walnut- 1/4 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
Vanilla essence – 1 tsp

Method of Preparation

1. In a blender, add 3 banana, jaggery and sugar. Blend into fine paste.
2. Pour the banana mixture in a bowl. Add oil and vanilla mixture and mix well.
3. In a plate, dry mix wheat flour, baking powder and baking soda. Mix well.
4. Add dry mixture to wet mixture. To this add rawa, curd and walnuts. Mix well.
5. Grease a baking dish. Pour the mixture and sprinkle flax seeds and walnuts. Pat twice.
6. Pre-heat the container. Bake the bread for 40-50 mins on low flame.
7. Cool down the bread and demould. Banana Walnut Bread is ready to eat.

Banana Walnut Bread is a tasty,healthy and easy to bake dish that too without oven and eggless. Its made up of whole wheat flour, banana and walnuts and has no refined flour which makes for a healthy cake/bread.

1. Banana –
– A energy dense fruit. Banana are good source of potassium which helps regulate blood pressure. Its good for sufficing hunger as it gives instant energy. Aids in bowel movements thereby helping in reducing constipation.

2. Walnuts –

3. Wheat flour and Semolina –

4. Jaggery
– The proportion of sugar has been reduced in this recipes as firstly ripen bananas are used which add to the sweetness as well as use of jaggery has been done instead of full sugar.
– Jaggery is good alternative for refined sugar. This is rich in minerals and less processed form of sugar.

Tips:
1. Pre-heat the utensil in which cake is supposed to be baked. Cover the utensils and keep the flame medium.
2. Do not add the water while grinding the banana, jaggery and sugar mixture.
3. Can replace the sugar entirely with jaggery.
4. Can add nuts of your choice.
5. Dust the nuts with flour before adding to the batter so that it doesn’t sink down the cake.
6. Can store the banana walnut bread in refrigerator for 3-4 days. Avoid keeping it in room temperature as it has banana in it.
