Today I am sharing a very unique recipe. This recipe is super yummy and healthy as it is made of Rajma and is shallow fried. This is perfect for a healthy yet tasty snack or starter. I hope you all will like this recipe.
Recipe
Ingredients
1. Rajma (soaked & boiled) – 1 cup
2. Oil – 5tbsp
3. Asafoetida powder – ¼tsp
4. Cumin seeds – ¼tsp
5. Crushed ginger, garlic & green chilli – 1tbsp
6. Onion, finely chopped – 2tbsp
7. Salt to taste
8. Red chilli powder – 1tsp
9. Turmeric powder – ½tsp
10. Coriander powder – 1tsp
11. Kitchen king masala – 1tsp
12. Potato (boiled & grated) – 1 cup
13. Kasuri Methi – ½tsp
14. Garam masala powder – ½tsp
15. Chat masala – 1tsp
16. Coriander leaves, finely chopped – 1tbsp
17. Cashew nuts, crushed – 1tbsp (optional)
18. Bread crumbs – ½cup
19. Corn flour – 2tbsp
20. White flour (maida) – 1tbsp
Procedure
1. In a blending jar, add 1 cup rajma (soaked & boiled) & make a coarse paste. DO NOT ADD WATER.
2. Heat a pan & add 2tbsp oil.
3. Add ¼tsp asafoetida powder, ¼tsp cumin seeds & 1tbsp crushed ginger, garlic & green chilli. Sauté for a minute.
4. Add 2tbsp finely chopped onion & sautè for 2 minutes.
5. Add salt to taste & mix well.
6. Add 1tsp red chilli powder & ½tsp turmeric powder & mix well.
7. Add 1tsp coriander powder & 1tsp kitchen king masala & mix well.
8. Add the rajma paste & mix well.
9. Add 1cup boiled & grated potato & mix well.
10. Add ½tsp kasuri methi & ½tsp garam masala powder & mix well.
11. Add 1tsp chat masala & 1tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves & mix well. The masala is ready. Transfer it to a bowl.
12. Into it add 1tbsp crushed cashew nuts (optional).
13. Add ½cup bread crumbs & mix well.
14. Grease your palms with oil. Take small portions of the masala & shape it into tikkis.
15. In a plate spread 2tbsp corn flour & 1tbsp white flour (maida). Into it add bread crumbs & mix well.
16. Coat the tikkis with the corn flour & bread crumbs mixture.
17. Heat a pan & add 3tbsp oil. Place the tikkis one by one in the pan.
18. Shallow fry the tikkis until it becomes golden brown & crisp on low flame.
19. Turn it around & shallow fry the other side until it becomes crisp.
20. Make sure the flame is low. Fry the tikkis from both sides for 15 minutes. Add oil if required.
21. Once the tikkis are ready. Take it out onto a plate & serve.
22. Garnish with some onions, mint leaves & sprinkle some chat masala.
