How to make Khaman Dhokla | Healthy Besan Dhokla | Gujarati Khaman | Variation in Khaman Dhokla | Perfect Moong Sprouts and Spinach Khaman Dhokla

Join me today as I make my Protein-rich Sprouts and Spinach Dhokla. You can make the same recipe by steaming for 15-20 minutes but I plan to bake mine.

The benefit of baking the Khaman Dhokla is that all the batter goes into to the oven. As I need about 4-5 plates of Khaman this is a big plus for me. The other positive is I need lesser oil.

This variation of Khaman is highly appreciated in my place so I try and make it often. Adding the sprouts and spinach is optional you can use any others too. I have added the list in my blog post. Ingredients:
To Soak:
1 cup besan/chickpea flour
2 tbsp semolina
½ cup yogurt
½ cup water
To Grind:
½ cup moong sprouts
¼ cup palak/ spinach blanched
½ tsp ginger paste
8-10 cloves garlic
1 Green chillies
Other Ingredients Needed:
Salt to taste
¼ tsp turmeric
½ tsp fruit salt
1 tbsp + 1 tbsp oil to grease
2-3 tbsp sugar syrup
For the Tempering:
3 tbsp oil
2 Green chillies
½ tsp mustard
¼ asafoetida
1 tbsp sesame seeds
