hey guys I’m Nisa Homey, today I’m sharing a
healthy and filling jowar recipe made without
dairy milk which can be enjoyed as a quick meal
for dinner or as a breakfast in your weight loss
Journey so let’s get started with the recipe.
To make dairy free milk I have already soaked
overnight 7 to 8 almonds; now, it’s very important
that you soak the almonds overnight and peel the
skin and use them soaking the almonds will help to
release the phytic acid content and also helps in
better nutrient absorption and better digestion
so always try to soak almonds overnight peel the
skin and then use it in your recipes okay now
the almonds are peeled and ready to make almond
milk note that when almonds are soaked it also
sprouts a little hence soaking will help with
better nutrient absorption I’m adding the soaked
and peeled almonds into my small chutney grinder,
I have measured 1 cup of water and from this I’m
adding 1/4 cup of water into the chutney grinder
and now I’m going to blend this to make almond
paste okay now the almonds are nicely Blended
and it has become into a thick almond paste I’m
transferring the almond paste into a cup now
there are some residue in the chutney grinder we
don’t need to waste this so I’m adding the rest of
the water into the chutney grinder and I’m washing
down the residue into the cup this way there is no
wastage and now I’ve got 1 cup of fresh homemade
almond milk add the freshly made homemade almond
milk into a saucepan so this is 1 cup of almond
milk allow this to come to a boil on medium flame
I’m adding in 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground cardamom
powder, 1 tbsp raisin, 1 tbsp mixed seeds here I’m
using chia seeds, flax seeds, sunflower seeds,
and pumpkin seeds. 1/4 cup sprouted jowar flakes
1 tbsp jaggery, today I’m using marayour Jaggery
hence it is slightly darker in color and give
this all a good mix other options for sweetness
are date syrup or date paste Co coconut sugar
Kaki which is also known as liquid jaggery or
even maple syrup you can increase or decrease
jaggery powder as per your taste always make
sure that you’re using sprouted Millet products
for better nutrient absorption and for better
digestion. Now give this a good mix and allow
the jaggery flakes to get cooked remember the
flame is on medium-low allow it to cook for
about 5 to 8 minutes or until the jowar flakes
are nicely cooked. As the jowar flakes starts to
get cooked the porridge will start to thicken so
keep stirring it towards the end of the cooking.
After about 8 minutes the jowar flakes are nicely
cooked, at this moment I’m turning off the flame
pour the hot porridge into a serving bowl. For an
added flavor I’m grating in some nutmeg. For an
added crunch and flavor I’m adding in 1 teaspoon
raw cacao nibs instead of raw cacao nibs you can
use chopped nuts of your choice and my super
healthy jowar porridge is ready to serve. So,
guys do try this healthy quick and easy jowar
porridge and let me know in the comments how
it turned out thank you for watching
and until next time take care bye-bye
