1905 Cuban Salad
JOIN OUR FREE MEMBERSHIP:
Ingredients:
1 head of lettuce
2 ripe tomatoes
½ cup swiss cheese cut in strips
½ cup ham cut in julienne strips or cubed
(substitute turkey or shrimp)
3/4 cup red onion chopped
¼ cup green Spanish olives, pitted
2 tablespoons of grated Romano Cheese
Dressing Ingredients
1/8 cup white wine vinegar
½ cup extra-virgin Spanish olive oil
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
Toss together all salad ingredients in a bowl except Romano Cheese.
Dressing:
Add garlic, oregano, and Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, white wine and vinegar, whisk until completely mixed in a bowl.
Pour dressing on salad and toss until mixed. Add lemon juice, toss again. Then add Romano cheese.
