Ragi Ghee Dosa is a nutritious and crispy South Indian dosa made with ragi (finger millet) , rice, and urad dal, and cooked with ghee for a rich flavor. This dosa is a great breakfast or light dinner option, packed with fiber, calcium, and iron, making it a healthy alternative to regular dosa.
Ingredients:
For the Batter:
1/2 cup ragi (finger millet)
½ cup raw rice
¼ cup urad dal
½ cup water (adjust as needed)
salt to taste
For Cooking:
Ghee (as required)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Batter
Wash Ragi, rice and urad dal and soak it for 6 hours
grind to a fine paste adding salt and water.
Adjust the batter to required consistency adding water
Allow it to ferment for 8 to 10 hours
Step 2: Make the Dosa
Heat a tava (griddle) or non-stick pan on medium-high heat.
Brush or drizzle ghee on the hot pan.
Pour a ladle of batter and spread slightly.
Drizzle ghee around the edges and let it cook for 2 mins till done.
Remove and serve hot.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, or sambar.
A dollop of butter or extra ghee on top enhances the flavor.
