Healthy Kala Channa Appe

Welcome back to another episode of our Tasty Tiffin series, where I bring you quick, nutritious, and delightful recipes perfect for kids’ tiffin boxes.

Today, we’re making Kala Channa Appe, a protein-packed, bite-sized snack that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This recipe not only ensures a healthy and filling tiffin but also keeps the kids excited with its delicious taste and appealing texture.

Ingredients:
* 1 cup kala channa (black chickpeas), soaked overnight and boiled
* 1 tbsp yogurt (dahi)
* 1 small onion
* 1 cup of red, yellow and green bell peppers
* 2 tbsp boiled corn
* 1 green chilli, finely chopped (optional)
* 1 tsp Dhania pdr
* 1/2 tsp Roasted jeera pdr
* 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
* 1/2 tsp red chili powder
* Salt to taste
* Fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
* 2 tsp oil

Method:

1. To a chopper add the veggies and chop them fine
2. Repeat with the boiled Kala channa
3. To a bowl add the Kala channa, chopped veggies, some corn, jeera pdr, salt, dhania pdr, Kashmiri red chilli pdr, black pepper powder and mix
4. Add a little curd, fresh dhania and mix well
5. Heat an appe pan, brush with oil, add the batter and cook on both sides till golden brown on the outside
6. Enjoy with some chutney!!!
