2 Types of Mung Beans Sprouts Salad | Kosambari Recipe | Healthy Salad Recipes
Mung beans / Hesaru kaalu / Moong are packed with healthy nutritions, especially in the form of Sprouts. They help in weight loss, improve heart health, boost immune system and are very tasty in the form of salads.
Our ancestor always knew these benefits and hence included this salad in our everyday meal. Since I am a south Indian, Kosambari is a must in the traditional meals at our home. Be it weddings or any ceremony, Kosambari is always served and in varieties. I have showed two of the varieties of Kosambari (Salad) in this recipe video.
This salad is always better served fresh. Serving size is upto 3. The ingredients required to make it are:
Cucumber – 2
Carrot – 1
Mung beans sprouts – 1 cup (small)
Mung dal – 1 cup (small)
Oil – 2 tablespoons
Coconut Grated or Powder – 4 tablespoons
Mustard Seeds – 2 teaspoons
Green Chillies – 4
Lime juice – 4 tablespoons
Coriander Leaves – 1 cup (small)
Salt – 2 tablespoons
Hing / Asafoetida – pinch
Required time to make is 10 minutes.
