Skip the additives. Make your own:
2 (or a little more) cups of unsalted almonds
8 cups of water
sweetener of your choice (maple syrup, sugar etc) I used 5 medjool dates. Adjust your taste and starts with 3 medjool dates first if you like it less sweet
optinal: vanilla extract or pinch of salt to enhance flavour
blend all the ingredients for 30 sec. Strain the milk with a nutmilk bag, cheesecloth or kitchen towel, I do it 3 times to ensure there is no more pulp.
Store in the fridge for no about 3-5 days.
Because it doesn’t contain emulsifiers or stabilizers (like many store-bought versions), it naturally separates into two layers:
Top: thinner, more watery liquid
Bottom: heavier almond solids that settle
Just shake or stir it well before each use, and it will recombine.
