This is traditional Indian recipe which is delicious & also has many health benefits.
Toor dal (pigeon peas) is great source of folic acid. Toor dal provides good dose of fibers and carbohydrates. It is not only a heavy protein but also very rich in iron. For a diabetic person, toor dal can be daily part of their daily diet. Toor Dal also helps in weight loss.
The Lehsuni Dal/Garlic Dal can be enjoyed both rice or roti.

Ingredients:-
1 cup – Toor dal/ pigeon peas
1 tbsp – Oil
1 tsp – Cumin seeds
1 tsp – Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp – Asafoetida
4-5 nos. – Curry leaves
2-3 nos. – Green chillies
7-8 nos. – Garlic cloves
1 tsp – Turmeric
2 tsp – Salt
1 tbsp – Coriander
Instructions:-
1. In a pan, add 1 cup of washed toor dal with 2 cups of water and cover it with lid and cook it for 20-25 minutes on medium flame.
2. After 20 minutes, check whether dal is cooked and keep aside.
3. In a pan, add oil, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida and let them crackle. Saute well.
4. Then add curry leaves, green chillies, and garlic to it and saute till it gives spicy and aromatic smell.
5. Then add cooked dal to it and add turmeric and salt and give it a quick mix.
6. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with rice or roti.
