Chivda is nothing but a spiced mixture of one or two main ingredient and is a great tea time snack which is healthy too.
Poha / flattened rice is dry roasted till it turns crispy and till its colour starts to change, keep it aside and dry roast 1/2 cup oats , preferably rolled oats this way till its crispy and cooked, keep flame low while roasting poha and oats and keep stirring them lest they should burn.
Once its done, to a heated pan ,add oil, splutter mustard seeds, add green chillies, curry leaves, garlic, once it turns crispy add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilly powder, add 1/4 cup roasted bengal gram, asafoetida powder and salt to taste. Mix it well. Keep flame low, add roasted poha and oats to it and combine it well with the masala.
If the pan is hot then turn off the flame and mix them well.
( can add roasted peanuts as well )
