We love a one pot meal, because it is super efficient so we wanted to share our quick and easy healthy turkey chili! TBH, chili is always associated with cold weather, but this is so good and we made it lighter than your standard version, so it could be a year round one pot staple!
Ingredients:
Seasonings – *Adjust to your preferences*
1 teaspoon Sea Salt
2 teaspoons Cracked Black Pepper
2 teaspoons Garlic Salt
2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
1 tablespoon Chili Powder
Pinch of Paprika
Pinch of Cayenne
Additional ingredients –
1 large carrot chopped
1 anaheim pepper chopped
1 red bell pepper chopped
1.5-2 sweet potatoes chopped
1/2 large onion chopped
2-3 garlic cloves chopped
1 can tomato sauce
1 can crushed fire roasted tomatoes
1 can cannellini beans
5 oz water
Exits Virgin Olive Oil
1 lb organic ground lean turkey
Recipe –
Step 1. Starting with a dutch oven turn heat on medium and brown ground turkey
Step 2. Season turkey with all seasonings
Step 3. Once turkey is almost done cooking turn burner down to a simmer and begin cooking veggies
Step 4. In a separate pan turn on medium heat and begin to sauté chopped carrots, bell pepper, and anaheim pepper
Step 5. Microwave sweet potatoes 3-5 minutes
Step 6. Add in sweet potatoes, onion, salt and pepper
Step 7. Once veggies are almost all cooked throw in garlic cloves
Step 8. Go back to the dutch oven and add in beans, tomato sauce, and crushed red peppers, and cooked veggies
Step 9. Finally add in 5 oz of water (more or less, as needed)
Step 10. Let simmer for 1-3 hours and serve!
