Ingredients :
1 cup Semolina/Rava
3-4 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Cumin seeds/Jeera
2 roughly chopped Green Chilies
Pinch of Asafoetida powder
1/4th cup roughly chopped onion
1 tbsp Urad dal
Few Curry leaves
3 cups Hot water
Salt to taste
1 tsp Sugar
1 tbsp Lime juice
1/2 cup Green peas
1 tbsp finely chopped Coriander
1 cup grated Carrot
Grated fresh Coconut for garnish.
Method :
1. Dry roast the semolina for 3-4 mins and all it to cool down.
2. In a deep bottom pan heat oil add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. All them to flutter and then add asafoetida and urad dal.
3. Now add onions, curry leaves, green chilies and green. mix well and cover and cook for 3-4 mins.
4. Add roasted semolina, coriander and carrot. Mix well.
5. Add salt to taste sugar and lime juice. Mix well and add hot water.
6. Combine everything well and cover and cook for 5-6 mins.
7. Finally garnish with fresh grated coconut and delicious upma is read to be served.
