Sticky, crispy tofu perfection 🍯🥢

This Sticky Sesame Tofu is crispy, flavorful, and coated in a savory-sweet sauce that’s hard to resist. Air frying creates golden, crispy tofu while the sesame sauce adds bold flavor. It’s a simple plant-based dish that pairs perfectly with rice, noodles, or roasted vegetables.

Ingredients:

14 oz extra firm tofu, drained
2 Tbsp corn starch, to coat
1 tsp freshly minced garlic
1/2 cup low-sodium coconut aminos
1 Tbsp maple syrup
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp sesame oil
1 Tbsp corn flour
2 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp sesame seeds
1 green onion, chopped with whites removed
1 Tbsp olive or avocado oil

Instructions:

1️⃣ Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.

2️⃣ Cut the tofu into small squares, approximately 3/4 inch (2 cm). Toss each piece in corn starch in a small bowl.

3️⃣ Pour the tofu onto the air fryer tray and coat with oil. Air fry for approximately 8 minutes until crispy and golden brown.

4️⃣ In a small bowl, mix the garlic, tamari, maple syrup, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, corn flour, and water. Pour the sauce over the tofu to coat and air fry for another 4 minutes, stirring halfway to help the sauce thicken.

5️⃣ Top with green onions and sesame seeds to garnish.
