Are you ready to make delicious homemade chicken fingers for your kids? I think chicken nuggets have to be a favourite meal for children. I’m not sure if it is because chicken fingers are so crunchy and delicious or because they usually come with a side of fries!
Doesn’t matter, because in this video I am going to teach you how easy it is to make homemade baked chicken fingers! This recipe is such an easy toddler meal idea and it is also a healthy lunch idea for kids! How great is that?
I hate deep frying chicken fingers, I think it is SOO unnecessary, greasy and can potentially be filled with a lot of damaged fats or trans fats! YIKES!
For those of you who have picky eaters, this is a chicken tender recipe that is LOVED by all. I mean, how can you say no to chicken nuggets? And, the best part? You can make a boat load of the chicken fingers and freeze them for a day that you are not really feeling to cook!
This is such a nourishing meal for toddler’s, and you can literally add any side you want to bump up those nutrients! A M A Z I N G!
What you will need to make the magic:
Oven- 400F
Large oven safe pan
3-4 plates or bowls (for breading and coating chicken)
Food processor or high power blender
2 chicken breasts (more if you plan on freezing some for another day) PASTURE-RASIED
2 cups of rice cereal OR Go Go Quinoa Puffed Cereal- ANY NATURAL HEALTH SECTION AT GROCERY STORE
2 free range eggs- FARM
½ – ¾ cup of buckwheat flour- BULK BARN
¼ cup mustard powder- BULK BARN
1 tablespoon garlic powder- BULK BARN
1 ½ teaspoon onion powder- BULK BARN
Few shakes of salt
Black pepper (OPTIONAL)
Bake chicken for 12 minutes, flip and bake for another 7-10 minutes
FOR EXTRA CRISPY CHICKEN FINGERS: set oven high on broil for 2 minutes on each side
