Oats Uttappam
Oats Uttappam is a healthy, easy and an instant recipe of uttappam made with a healthier twist of oats. Oats are ground along with Sooji to a coarse powder and mixed into a thick batter with yogurt. This batter is pan-fried with a generous sprinkling of onion, capsicum, tomatoes. It can be easily prepared and as it can be prepared instantly, it can be made any time of the day.
Ingredients:
1 cup of oats
1 cup sooji(rawa)
3/4 cup of curd
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup capsicum
2 green chillies
1/4 tsp of baking soda
1/4 tsp of ajwain
Salt to taste
Water for batter
Oil
Method:
In a mixer grinder add 1 cup of oats and 1 cup of sooji(rawa). Make a very fine powder. Add around 3/4 cup of curd and water and make a smooth batter. Add green chilli, ajwain and salt to the batter and let it rest for atleast 20 mts. Now add in the banking soda and if needed at some water and mix the batter well. In a dosa pan add the uttapam, add chopped onion tomato and capsicum on it. Leave oil on the sides and in the center. Cook on each side for around 3 to 4 minutes. Serve with chutney or sauce
