Dalia or Broken Wheat is a superfood and one the the healthiest breakfast. It is very nutritious, full of fibres, very easy to digest. Dalia helps in weight loss, maintaining cholesterol levels and is very good for diabetics. Dalia is prepared in many ways. Today I am sharing an easy & quick recipe of Dalia Upma. Recipe of Vegetable Dalia Upma
Ingredients:
Daliya/Broken Wheat/Bulgur Wheat – 1 Cup
Rai/Mustard Seeds – 1/4 Tsp

Curry Leaves – 5-7

Chopped Onion – 1 Small

Veggies of your choice.
I used:
Chopped Baby Corn, Chopped French Beans,
Chopped Carrots ,GreenPeas,
Red and Yellow Bell Pepper, Green Chilli, Tomato

Method:
Dry roast Dalia on a low flame. Keep stirring it continuously. Dry roast it for 1-2 minutes. Take it out in. a bowl and keep aside.
Heat 1 Tsp Ghee/Oil in a pan.
Add 1/4 Tsp Rai / Mustard Seeds and let them splutter.
Add Curry Leaves and give it a quick mix.

Add Chopped Onions and cook for 1 minute. We don’t have to overcook onions.
Now add veggies of your choice.
I have added, Chopped Baby Corn, French Beans, Carrots,1/4 Cup Green Peas, Bell Peppers and Green Chilli. Cook for 2 minutes and then add chopped Tomato. Keep stirring and cook it for another 2 minutes.
Now add 1/4 Tsp Red Chilli Powder, 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper Powder, Salt, 1/8 Tsp Turmeric, 1/2 Tsp Coriander Powder. Mix and cook for 2 minutes.
Now add roasted Daliya/Broken Wheat/ Bulgur. Give it a nice mix.
Now add 3 Cups Water and mix nicely. Once it starts boiling, reduce the flame to lowest. Cover and cook till the Water evaporates. It will take 4-5 minutes. Mix it and cook it uncovered for 1-2 minutes. Vegetable Daliya Upma is ready. Serve it with Green Chutney and Yogurt.
